Effective Advertising? Done.

You want your website to be well known and this probably won’t happen unless you have a good advertising campaign to back you. Sounds like a lot of work doesn’t it? It’s a little bit, but it is worth it if you can do it properly. Below you will find some tips that will help you on your way to creating an effective advertising campaign.

  1. When you create your ads, don’t forget that you are working with a limited amount of text! This means you need to choose good wordplay that will effectively captivate your audience and at the same time convey the message you are trying to get across.
  2. Remember that you need to design your ads to please the certain demographic you are targeting (or should be targeting…).  Also make sure your ads are displayed where the primary viewer will be someone in that target demographic!
  3. Online advertising is great but do not forget about other alternatives! Especially if your website offers a certain product! You can use things like television (ha…if you have the money…), radio, newspaper, fliers, etc. There are too many ways to reach out to potential customers for you to only use PPC ads.
  4. If you have a low budget to work with, then you might want to consider placing it all into one effective medium of advertising. If not, feel free to advertise with different mediums. The only thing you need to think about is the fact that you need to make sure your ads appear often!

When you combine all these elements together, you potentially have one crazy effective marketing campaign! All it took was a little time and thought…And a little bit of money. But if money is a concern for you, check out my other advertising articles (like this one) for info to get around this issue.

Yes I Can Advertise Cheap

It happens to the best of us. We need to advertise for our website and for some reason or another we just don’t have enough money to pull off anything big. No worries though, thats what this article is for! Believe it or not there are cheap ways to advertise that can still be somewhat effective. I will give a basic strategy that you can use almost anywhere!

Think of it this way. You offer something that a certain group of people want. Nowadays people like to chat about their common interests, so this means that you can find certain areas where the people you are looking for meet. Now all you need to do is present what you can offer them and convince them that you are the one they should go to when they are looking for that product.

“Wow…is that all? I could of thought of that…”. Yes you could have and you probably did. If not, then no worries! It is that simple, but now let’s look at places that people could meet and how you might present yourself to them.

Where Can This Be Applied?

Absolutely everywhere! With the internet boom, virtually every single thing you could think of has some website or social network that is associated with it! Consider places like forums or social networks like Myspace and Facebook as potential hives of customers! Are you beginning to see the possibilites?

Besides internet, it is always good to actually go somewhere and interact with people. A good example would be if you were selling auto parts. Maybe next time you are getting your car tuned up you could leave a few business cards at the shop (with permission of the shop owner of course)? Even in doing this, besides the fact that you may get a few more customers for your auto parts, you might even get the chance to be a supplier for the shop owner!

So you see, there are plenty of ways to get free or cheap advertising for your website, and sometimes with great results. Anything done properly can have infinite potential!

GASP! Google isn’t my only option?!

Believe it or not, Google isn’t your only option when it comes to pay per click online advertising! There are many other networks that you can use to advertise your site to your targeted audience! Now I’m not saying don’t use Google for online advertising, but I am saying that while using Google is great, you can still take advantage of many other networks that are great for online advertising! Here I will show you just a few of the available networks to use and also provide a slight overview of each one. By the end of this post I hope you will be able to more consciously choose an effective online advertising network for yourself.

  • BidVertiser is our first network of the day for online advertising. They allow you to select what geographical area your online advertisements will run on, and also what sites your online advertisements will display on. After deciding upon those, you simply create your ad, set your budget, and set your price cap! Their ad formats are pretty much identical to that of Adsense.
  • Yahoo Seach Marketing is a continuously growing network that already expands greatly over the internet. But some of you may think “Wait…You said search marketing…My online advertisements will only show on Yahoo Search!”. WRONG! While your online advertisements will show on Yahoo Search, they will also show on other search engines that Yahoo owns like AllTheWeb and AltaVista. Another advantage to this is the fact that people are already searching for what you offer! Sounds like a higher customer conversion ratio to me.
  • Chitika is a network that is geared specifically for blogs. This is a great way to go considering that blogs are continuously growing in popularity. They have several interactive products depending on the type of advertising that you wish to do. Personally, I must say that I was more impressed by Chitika advertisements than any other advertisements I have come across in my life as an internet user. Definitely worth looking into!

So as you can see, you have many promising options out there when it comes to online advertising! Don’t use Google alone just because you think they own the internet (okay…maybe they do….just a little…). While there is much more information I could squeeze into this post, I end here, leaving you to check each of these websites and more to find the ad network that is suitable for you. Do your research!
