I’m Back

After discontinuing my blog, I have decided to begin blogging again. I am currently working on many blog posts that I hope you will find interesting! I will be talking about topics like advertising, web hosting, and page rank! Check back soon!

BlogRush Begins Phase 2

You may remember that my last post about BlogRush gave insite on what would be available when phase 2 begins. Well phase 2 has begun! Since earlier this week BlogRush has initiated phase 2 and for one day gave a 40% boost in site traffic to all users. I checked my stats and definetly noticed the increase.

They made a whole video about the update, but I can also sum it up for you right here. You now have a dashboard that comes complete with stats and graphs for your website. You can earn credits by how many people you refer to blogrush, how much traffic you send, and how much traffic you receive. They show information on your credits by creating graphs that show where your credits come from and how many you earned from traffic.  For each blog you connect to your account they keep track off which articles are most popular, how many times it was advertised, how many people looked at it, etc. They also have a meter for each blog article that shows how hot, cold, or mild it is.

You can also use filters to decide what kind of articles show in your blogrush widget that you place on your page. Besides just articles, you can filter whole blogs from appearing in your widget. You can also prevent certain blog posts of yours from being shown in other people’s widget.

The next thing is that you can generate reports for each blog to show all the stats, which includes traffic, credits earned, referrals, etc.

You can now also choose different “flavors” or colors of widgets to place on each individual blog of yours. You can also choose the size of the widget. Right now there are 13 different flavors available and also two sizes (175px && 120px).

Besides that, they went through (by hand!) thousands of blogs to pick and choose which ones were allowed to stay and which ones had to go! I think all this effort shows that BlogRush is definetly a quality network that is here to stay.

With all these features there is no reason not to check out BlogRush!

Effective Advertising? Done.

You want your website to be well known and this probably won’t happen unless you have a good advertising campaign to back you. Sounds like a lot of work doesn’t it? It’s a little bit, but it is worth it if you can do it properly. Below you will find some tips that will help you on your way to creating an effective advertising campaign.

  1. When you create your ads, don’t forget that you are working with a limited amount of text! This means you need to choose good wordplay that will effectively captivate your audience and at the same time convey the message you are trying to get across.
  2. Remember that you need to design your ads to please the certain demographic you are targeting (or should be targeting…).  Also make sure your ads are displayed where the primary viewer will be someone in that target demographic!
  3. Online advertising is great but do not forget about other alternatives! Especially if your website offers a certain product! You can use things like television (ha…if you have the money…), radio, newspaper, fliers, etc. There are too many ways to reach out to potential customers for you to only use PPC ads.
  4. If you have a low budget to work with, then you might want to consider placing it all into one effective medium of advertising. If not, feel free to advertise with different mediums. The only thing you need to think about is the fact that you need to make sure your ads appear often!

When you combine all these elements together, you potentially have one crazy effective marketing campaign! All it took was a little time and thought…And a little bit of money. But if money is a concern for you, check out my other advertising articles (like this one) for info to get around this issue.
